Default 09 Venza My new ride

It appears to fit in between the 08 Rav and the much larger 08 HL.

Closer in interior size to the 1st gen HL's, less third row.

New 2009 Toyota Venza

I like the 20 inch wheels.

Venza will be available with 2.7 I-4 or 3.5 V6 (268HP)

Either had FWD or 4WD, The amenities of an Avalon and the versatility of an HL.

Toyota refers it to a Crossover and also a Sedan.

There will be one trim level.
Designed in Cali.
It will be built in Kentucky.

It will be sold to the North American Market only.

It will get a very large sunroof plus rear skylight fixed glass panel much like the Ford Edge. A first for Toyota.
The Venza will also get Auto High Beam dimming. Also a first for Toyota.
GM has offered this in the past on Caddys.

Nav and all the amenities will be available too.

20" rims and Dual exhaust will be standard for the V6. 19" rims and single exhaust for the I-4.

The Venza is taken directly from the FT-SX Toyota concept Vehicle:

Two pix to compare.
Toyota has come very close to it's recent concept car and put into production very fast. Alot of the Concept's features were carried into the Venza.

I would like to drive it... hopefully it matches the FX crossover from Infiniti.!!!

I drove the FX45 and I liked it instantly -- but then I couldn't afford it from gas and price standpoint. The growl from dual exhaust and bullet proof engine's horses were quite a push.

Lets see, hopefully the Venza is not another highlander.

It looks like cars really are moving towards that classic "future" vehicle look. I'm mixed on this. It looks nice, but certain angles look awkward.

The interior better be real nice, otherwise I don't see why it serves any purpose different than the Rav4. The pictures I saw at edmunds were nice, looked less like an Aztek/Mazda5 hybrid than it does here.

Where did Pontiac Aztec come from? I don't see any similarity.

Aztec was listed in the TOP TEN Blunders for GM in the past 30 years.

The Public refused to buy it based on looks alone.

The Pontiac Design Team was fired for that mistake.

The Venza won't be an FX35/45. That's in a different league.

Actually I considered the FX35 but thisCrossover was very harsh riding, required excessive maintenance, and was plagued by small defects.

Power window regulators failing predominently on the passenger front.

And oil burning issues, sludging in the valve train.
But at least they give yu a loaner when it is stuck at the Infiniti Dealer for two weeks waiting for parts to fix the window regulator..

And the V6 is as just as much a pig on Fuel as the V8. The FX is actually a bit too heavy for the V6 with AWD.

I know owners of both and and have driven both. They both require Premium grade fuel also.

The Venza will fit in where the 01-07 sized Highlander Crossover was. At least this is Toyotas Marketing Objective. The 08 HL is larger and is Targeting a different Market right now.

And quite honestly The 08 HL is really too much Vehicle for me. I like the smaller SIZE of the 01-07's.
The 08 is a gem, but just too large for me.

If my 06 HL was to get stolen or totalled tommorow, I will not be replacing it with the size of an 08 HL.

Hence the Venza.

The Rav has a real budget styled interior. Always had.

The Venza is much like the Avalon and HL interiors.

Check out the video of the interior of the Venza from the Autoshow Toyota Release linked at AutoBlog.
