I commute 550 miles a week and usually get 36-38 mpg running in stop and go traffic and 75 mph when traffic is moving. I did a test one week to see if going 55 mph with the cruise would make any difference and it went up to 45 mpg. I have a 2007 Yaris Sedan 5 speed with 36k miles and Mobil 1 oil.

My mileage has been crappy through the winter months. I make lots of short trips in the city, and I live just 2 miles from work.
I tracked my mileage for 5 months through the winter and managed just 32 MPG. I have a 2007 Liftback Automatic with 16k miles. Truthfully, the mileage should be very similar no matter what type of Yaris you get. And did I mention I love my Yaris? Well, I do. |

I just got mine ( Bayou Blue 3 dr 5M + powerpackage) and got 37 the first tank without "trying" to get good mileage. I commute 70 miles roundtrip 5days a week. I've been keeping him at 65-70 on the highway during break-in. I do 50/50 2ndary and Hiway about 10 sets of lights stopping at 80% of em. Winter temps, mid 20's morning and low 40's (farenheit) afternoon. No tach cant tell you shift points in RPM. In MPH shift at for normal accel: 1-2 at 15, 2-3 at 25, 3-4 at 40 and 4-5 at 45

Hey, guys I would love to own a little Yaris. Really comes home each time I fill my 3/4 ton truck with gas.
Mileage: Good rule to follow, For each 5 mph you drive over 55 mph you lose about 1 mpg. I set in a little red 3 door the other day at the dealer, it wanted to follow me home and I was ready. |

I drive a 2007 stick and in the city I average 32+ to 34+ mpg depending on the weather. I frequently drive from NYC to Ottawa and average 44+ mpg no matter what the weather. I usually set my cruise controll at 4 mph over the posted speed limits (55 downstate and 65 upstate) and enjoy the ride. Love my Yaris.
