Not sure if anyone cares for this but here is a pic of where I put my GPS antenna. This is hidden but after an hour of driving around, it works GREAT! Nice to see you dont have to place these only on the outside of your car.

But does it work?
This was just an educated guess. I need to know if it works for future reference. I am worried it is a digital signal and not analog.
Please let us know if it works.
THANKS

p.s. my GPS antenna is on my dash under the dash cover and works perfectly.
thats a nice place you found.

You bet it works. On the Pioneer unit, it allows me to check connections and signals. As I move, it beeps and beeps higher pitches as I go faster.

Moving along. TIme to start thinking about installing some amps. Today I looked for that sweet spot to have my amp power wire go through the firewall. On the passanger side, I found a super easy access point. I am concerned about what the purpose of this hole is. It is currently pluged with some rubber toob that runs to the middle of the dash. Here are some pics of what I am looking at. Any idea what this is for? Will I be messing anyting up by using this hole. Thanks again for any help.

wow.. mustang...are you part of the team that designed yaris?

anyways i'm about to buy my first car and i've been thinking seriously about the yaris sedan. + the power package... the only problem i have is the integrated stereo head unit. I have been upgrading HUs from my previous car to get SQs so I plan to do the same for my yaris. But how'd you change the HU is integrated? And is the stock HU any good? where can I find the specs? is it pioneer same as that of the XA?

The integral stereo unit :

AM/FM Tuner

CD Player

CD-TEXT Display Function

MP3 and WMA Playback
Function

Manufacturer: Fujitsu TEN
This is all the info they supply us.

Fujitsu TEN makes the NAV SYSTEMS for Toyota and Eclipse.
I dont know anything about changing it to an aftermarket HU, sorry.
But the Combination meter, speed sensor input all run thru this.

oh fujitsu ten... just like my mid 90's stock mazda. they come in 1.75 sized din. which is hard when you want to change to 1 din sized aftermarket HUs. The last fujitsu ten HU was not that good. we really had to change it.

combination meter... you mean the instrumentation panel?
speed sensor... ammm sorry this is for what?

why does the yaris come in integrated HUs when you choose power package sigh

speed sensor... ammm sorry this is for what? Good question,I'll have to research this and get back to ya.

why does the yaris come in integrated HUs when you choose power package sigh Because the design engineer said so. I really dont know, maybe has something to do with the power door locks (self locking doors ata certain speed? I really hae no idea, thats just what the wire diagram shows.
Fujitsu 10 has come along way, To me its one of the best STOCK radios they offer.
But I am not really a music person. I am a gearhead and would rather hear the engine purrrrrrrr.

Those things have been around for years. They make a turbolike sound.
But if you know what a REAL TURBO thats making horsepower sounds like then your gonna be dissapointed.
BUT......
If you like that kinda stuff .
I know that if I ever did that to one of my vehicles, my friends would NEVER stop laughing at me and NEVER let me live it down.
