I am planning on getting an 07 Yaris Sedan with Power Package/Integrated Audio & ABS. Is it possible to totally yank the integrated radio & replace with something else?

I also have an RX400h, and I was able to by a blank "filler" pannel that perfectly matches the dash. The filler panel has a slightly-larger-than-double-DIN blank in the middle that I was able to cut out & mount a double-DIN NAV system. Would I need something like this, or is there an easier way to do this?

Mind you, I haven't decided yet on what I'd replace it with, but I was thinking along the lines of a double-DIN NAV system if it would fit. If not, I'd like to get something with reasonable iPod & SAT integration, as opposed to the expenseive & feature-lacking options from Toyota.

Question Re: how to change stereo in yaris

Wow, what a great website, alot of info.

I have a 2007 yaris with no radio, I just want a plain
radio with CD. Nothin fancy or boom boom. If I find a
stock toytoa radio, is it simple as mount and plug thing?

Any suggestions?

Anyone happen to have a line on what the part number might be for an 07 Yaris sedan "non-integrated" radio bezel (the part above the heater/AC control knobs that also surrounds the air registers)? I want to yank my integrated stereo & that's probably one of the first things I'll need.

Once I find that, I assume (hope?) I can use a "standard" dash kit to install an aftermarket HU.

The toyta part number for the 07 Sedan "standard" radio bezel (in case you want to swap our the #$%^& integrated radio with aftermarket) is 55405-52640. List price is $75 US. With the part number in hand maybe you can order one on-line and/or find it cheaper...

My secondary question remains...is there a "standard" single-DIN or double-DIN mounting kit I can use to mount an aftermarket HU behind this bezel?

Great site, tons of good info. Excuse my ignorance but I checked the knowledgae base and coudln;t quite find these. I'm looking to remove the dash for my 07 sedan yaris, long story short, I had an installer put in a hornet car starter, nothing fancy. Worked great for a week, then no more remote start :-( He says it's a fuse in the starter which I'm hoping is installed right under the dash, he wants 65 to change it (nice hunh) I'm looking to see if it's under the dash and saving myself 60 bucks! Thanks for any help!

Warning: Newb here I'm a subscriber and I can't see any of the pdf files you posted in this thread. Have the links been removed? I just want to tap into the rear speaker leads so I can add a small powered subwoofer. Any suggestions on where to pick these up - floor, threshold,etc..???

Thanks
