The Yaris is not available in the US or Canada except for as an '07 model. No information is available on earlier year models.

If the Yaris is the same as the Echo then it's easy. First pull the instrument shroud fwd (center of dash.Top. clipped on) and undo the electrical connection under. The black cover under the instrument shroud you removed has 1 recessed screw that you need to remove (yes in the hole on the top of the black plastic cover). Next look at the centre section of the dashboard and just under one of the vents, you will see a storage compartment and there is one screw just on the side going in on an angle towards the heater controls (yes bend down and look under. No there is no screw on the opposite side below the other centre vent). Next pull all 3 round heater/ventilation knobs off and find 2 screws (one under each of the outer controls. The whole centre upper section of the dash will pull away but don't overdo it. We have wires to disconnect. Disconnect the wires and release the white clips towards the outside to allow the whole white assembly to slip towards you slightly (don't disconnect the cable). This will give you access to the 2 upper stereo screws (one on each side. Black) so just remove them. the whole front stereo/ashtray fascier can be pulled carefully forward and you can disconnect the cigarette lighter. Next undo the 2 lower black screw where the ashtray use to be and thats it. Remember if your fitting another stereo, the white wire with the black stripe is the earth and the green wire is connected to the tail lamp circuit (not normally required for modern cd players). Accessory wire is Grey (switched 12v ign switch) and permanent 12v is Blue with yellow stripe.
You wouldn't happen tohave those pdf docs for the liftback, would you?
Thanks.
Here ya go.

I just bought a 2007 yaris liftback and guess what? It came without a radio. Interestingly enough, it did come with a radio antenna and 4 speakers. The dealer said it's all set up for a radio to be installed.
I looked at the pdf's that mustang linked, but there's not enough detail there and the picture looks a little different than my car's dash..
Anyway, my dilemma is similar to therealsybarite's but instead of removing a radio I'm trying to figure out how to get the plate off the dash so I can put a radio in. As therealsybarite noted in the first post in this thread, there doesn't seem to be any screws or clips to access.
Will I need to remove part of the dashboard or is there a way to pop out the plate? I'm the kind of person who, if I have to remove too many screws and wires, I will end up with extra parts after I'm done re-assembling it.
Here is some more about removing the dash, to get to the radio.
Good luck
