Default Question Re: Transmission fluid.

I am a new owner.....2007 Yaris liftback..........Purchased in San Francisco 6 weeks ago........I have looked all through the instructions, and I do not see how to check the automatic transmission fluid level ............and I do not see the location on the underhood diagram. Maybe it does not need checking.....anyone out there know ????? This is my first posting...love the Yaris........I am 72 years old and have owned cars for 50 years, and this is the best ever.....have owned German and American over the years............ Thanks,,,,,

You can't check it from what I have seen in the manual. It takes the new TOYOTA WS fluid.

While we're on the subject of tranny fluid, I was just told by a Toyota tech that it does not need to be replaced until 60,000 miles. I have nearly 35,000 miles and I was wondering because the stupid maintenence booklet is very vague about the auto-tranny fluid....stupid manuals!!
