I know that on the US version (2007 model) it states in the owner's manual that the dealer can disable it. This involves the service department's scan tool to change the software state of the buzzer and warning light. It can be done for both driver's and passenger's seats, for the buzzer and/or the warning light.

I have the factory manuals (including wiring diagram) and it appears that it is possible to disconnect two wires under the driver's seat, which may "fool" the computer into thinking that the driver's seat belt is fastened. The complication is that you don't want to disconnect the wiring that senses the presence of the driver (for the airbag).

If I find a good system that the individual owner can employ, I'll post it.

Thanks for your reply.

Do you have that wirring diagram electronicly ?
I tried to disconnect the wire going to the seat belt receiver and no lock. I even measured with a ohmmeter to see if when buckled or not the resistance would change (Like a switch) and nothing (To my surprise).

If this is not switch then what is it ?

I don't have the diagram in electronic form, though I could scan it in at some point (my computer's not in my garage). It appears to me that the seat belt has a diode in it (did you try measuring continuity in both directions?) I am basing that on the wiring diagram and standard diode symbology. What's tricky is that they incorporated both the seat belt bucked/unbuckled wiring and the occupant detector sensor wiring in the same connector, so that if it is possible to defeat the seat belt warning by disconnecting the wire, then it will be necessary to remove (or cut) the individual wires to that connector.

i'm just wondering... why would you want to take out the seat belt warning buzzer? isn't that should be a safety reminder for your advantage?
