I recently lost an air freshener strip down the front windshield air vent. Now my air flow dial can not go from windshield/feet to just windshield. I brought my car in to the dealership hoping that it would be an easy thing for them to pull off the dashboard and access the air box. Apparently it'll take 4-6 hours of labor and at $84/hour I'll be paying somewhere between $336 to $504 to have the stupid air freshener removed.
If I can get a good service manual of some sort I would like to do the work myself and save that money. Does anyone know where I can find that? Thanks in advance.
and subscribe for a day or longer to have access to all the PDF files for the Toyota shop manuals. I spent $50 for a one month subscription and copied all the files I needed for my '06 Avalon, my wife's '03 Highlander and my parents '04 Camry. Not a bad deal considering the paper shop manuals will cost you $250-$350.
Thanks for the great advice. That website for viewing the manuals rock! Unfortunately after reviewing the process to get to the airbox I can see why it would take four to six hours. I'd rather allow a professional to get it done and not mess with it myself.
