I have the same problem. Has anyone gotten it fixed. Mine is on a 2001 SR5 and is on the drivers' side front door.

Hi all,
This is my first post here.

I have a 2000 Tundra access cab. My driver side front door check is absolutely trashed!

My wife has been driving it to pull the horse trailer so I can't say how suddenly this happened. But I drove the truck a week ago and didn't notice anything odd. Opened the door Tuesday evening and screech, clunk, broken door.

Is the torn metal actually part of the door frame? It almost looks like there could be a plate that fits in behind the oval shaped opening?

I'm pretty sure this sucks, so any advice would be appreciated!

Re: Door hinge/stop broken

This piece is not part of the frame, its a separate piece but they all get laid out in one big jig then welded together. I used to build those so I know that's how they go together. What I cant tell you is how much a body shop would charge to fix it or how. Maybe they peel the flanges back, drill out all the spot welds and replace the entire thing, or they just go in there and patch it somehow. Either way you should be able to walk into any body shop and get a quote on the spot and know what it will cost in 5 minutes. Then the question is do you want to pay whatever they charge or just look for a door from a scrap yard.

2012 Crewmax TRD 5.7, 4x4, 15% tint all around plus sunstrip. Ionic Gladiator running boards. Weathertechs front and rear. Line X, AVS vent visors. Viper 5301 2 way remote start, MBRP S5316304 cat back exhaust. Bakflip Fibermax tonneau cover.
Traded in my 05 4x4 DC, AFE CAI, Magnaflow Catback15820, Line X bedliner, Rampage Patriot running boards.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give the body shop a try. Wish it was something I could do myself, but hopefully it's not too expensive. If it is, I'll try the salvage yard route.
