  1. disable air bag

    1Gen-Tundra
I hope I'm right on this. When I first put a bull bar on the front of my 2003 Tundra AC I tried to find out how much front impact it would take to trigger the driver-side steering wheel air bag. After some research I found out any air bag is activated by a sensor that detects (a certain amount...
  2. Valve cover bolts

    1Gen-Tundra
My 2003 Tundra Access Cab V8 is just coming on to 9 years of age and 71,000 miles. I went out and checked the valve cover bolts. No oil leakage. Clean and shiny. I power wash the engine compartment regularly. But thanks for the "heads up". I'll check all the bolts tomorrow. Regards.
  3. New Hood Deflector (Bug/Rock shield)

    1Gen-Tundra
Well hell Pilgrim ....... I really like THIS one .................. maybe my wife will like it enough to let me buy one!
  4. serious starter issues on 03 tundra

    1Gen-Tundra
Wait a minute ....................! I have an '03 Tundra. It's a V8/automatic but I had that happen. The second dealer that tried to fix it found the problem. It was the starter relay in the underhood fuse box. Try that first. Much cheaper and easier than pulling the intake manifold. At...
  5. Heads up displays projected to windshield (see as a reflection)

    1Gen-Tundra
That headS-up (sorry, Air Force vet here) display looks great at night! Now, combine with FLIR and you've got something.
  6. Flex Fuel Feature on New Tundra

    Tundra
Isn't it ethanol that has only 62% the power as gasoline? No thanks. I'll stick with my Chevron 91 octane (Calif) premium fuel. And besides my supercharger wouldn't like it. George60 NorCal
  7. Hybrid Tundra yes no...maybe?

    Tundra
It's always seemed to me ... what happens when the hybrid vehicle gets to be 10 years old and older? What about the person who can only afford a vehicle this age and who does his own work to repair his truck? How does he deal with the electrical side? I've had my Tundra 8+ years from new now...
  8. TRD Supercharger

    Tundra
I'm a senior. My current Tundra truck, 1st Gen, has a supercharger. If I were to come buy a new Tundy I would buy the SC in a flash. George60 Northern California
  9. Gas pump refueling problems!!

    1Gen-Tundra
I've had an '03 Tundra from new and there was factory TSB where the dealer changed the gas filler pipe. I don't know the details of the fix. BUT a lot of the problem has to do with the gas nozzles themselves. Try to go to a newer service station. I spent 10 minutes today dribbling 21.4...
  10. Vendor/Retailer Coupon Code Thread

    Off-Topic
I would love to have a modified valve body for my '03 4.7 Supercharged but $500-600 is just too much money for that work. I had a Hypertech Controller for my Z28 Camaro LT1 a few years ago. It made super tight automatic shifts. It was great. Anyone know of a vendor for Toyota transmissions...
  11. Looking for Bedside Decals...

    Interior & Exterior
Sergeant -- I ran across this website a while back. Sockmonkey Tacoma (as in Toyota) World Decals. I just skimmed it. The ordering procedure seemed a little convoluted. Anyway it might have what you're looking for. I guess just Google it. Good Luck George60
  12. Little help identifying this part?

    1Gen-Tundra
Yup, this is one of two rubber flaps on the back wall of your cab. They are for ventilation. I believe vehicles sold in America have been required to have some ventilation for years. As mentioned you might get rain water in the truck if left off. I've got the same thing on my '03 Tundra...
  13. Vehicle damaged by dealer, what would you do?

    Interior & Exterior
This happened to me. One of the Toyota lot people pulled a new Camry out of it's parking spot just as I was leaving in my Tundra from having had my truck serviced. She caved in the side of my truck just aft of the cab. The bed had a huge dent in it. The manager came out and took my truck on...
  14. Added TRD exhaust and Intake

    Tundra
Congratulations! I'm saving up for the same system. Oh, and your kids you will realize will be your greatest work!
  15. Matchbook cover collecting

    Off-Topic
Anyone here collect matchbook covers? I have some I could donate. I started a collection many years ago when I was in the military bit never took up the smoking habit. I'm getting older and clearing out "stuff". George60
