Tow package also has the transmission cooler I believe. I would probably lock out 5th and 6th gear (not just 6th) if I was towing that, but if it's flat and you have a tail wind, the truck could probably do ok in 5th. If the transmission is shifting a lot, just lock out the highest gear.

My understanding is that because you brought it in for a supposed issue prior to the end of your warranty, now if your warranty ends and that item does have an issue you'll have better luck with warranty coverage. Haven't heard of exact cutoffs, but definitely read many threads about people...

I'd say you got lucky, as that could have been a LOT worse. Imagine if it had been bouncing up into the air as you drove into it... bumper, grill, hood, and windshield could have all been bashed. Scary. Are you going to hang the anchor on your garage wall?

Just because the rear suspension is resting on the bump stops does NOT mean there is no longer any available compliance (effective suspension) for the rear of the truck. I want to know why you think sitting on the bump stops means the truck won't be able to brake effectively any more.
