  1. How to install a block heater:

    Tundra
I'm really sorry but I don't have the images anymore. I had uploaded them all to Skitch years ago when I first took them so I could draw arrows on them and use Skitch's hosting links, after which I deleted them from my computer. Skitch was bought by Evernote a while ago, and apparently they...
  2. Vehicle Towing with 2010 Tundra

    Tundra
Tow package also has the transmission cooler I believe. I would probably lock out 5th and 6th gear (not just 6th) if I was towing that, but if it's flat and you have a tail wind, the truck could probably do ok in 5th. If the transmission is shifting a lot, just lock out the highest gear.
  3. Upper ball joint - Is it cover under warranty?

    Tundra
My understanding is that because you brought it in for a supposed issue prior to the end of your warranty, now if your warranty ends and that item does have an issue you'll have better luck with warranty coverage. Haven't heard of exact cutoffs, but definitely read many threads about people...
  4. Supercharger MPG

    Tundra
Same as me. No change with fuel mileage (if I'm easy on the throttle), and I also don't tow.
  5. Supercharger MPG

    Tundra
    Go easy on the throttle!
  6. Supercharger MPG

    Tundra
What were you averaging when towing prior to installing the supercharger?
  7. Tundra vs. Boat Anchor

    Tundra
I'd say you got lucky, as that could have been a LOT worse. Imagine if it had been bouncing up into the air as you drove into it... bumper, grill, hood, and windshield could have all been bashed. Scary. Are you going to hang the anchor on your garage wall?
  8. Oil Stick

    Tundra
Sounds like you still need another quart of oil.
  9. Radiator foam removal, what are you guys doing?

    Tundra
It's not going to alter how the truck runs normally. The goal of the foam is to seal that area and increase airflow through the radiator, as opposed to up and over it. Because our cooling systems are over-engineered for all but the absolute most extreme conditions, you won't notice any changes...
  10. Radiator foam removal, what are you guys doing?

    Tundra
    I concur 100%.
  11. Ultimate AIP Bypass Model - new version available

    Group Buys and Vendor Specials
Great to see more options for getting around the AIP failures.
  12. 2010+ tundra vs 1 ton dodge diesel personal opinions please

    Tundra
I've never understood having a big diesel truck if you don't actually do any towing with it. You will be more than impressed with the 5.7L in the Tundra.
  13. How to install a block heater:

    Tundra
A few thoughts for you. 1) Even at 20* F my truck starts slightly more smoothly after being plugged in for 3 hours. It becomes more and more noticeable how much more smoothly it starts as the temp drops. 2) My truck will blow warm air from the vents slightly quicker after being plugged in...
  14. How To Install Rear Swaybar:

    Tundra
They're in the neighborhood of $200. No sense posting links, as they are frequently changing. Just search the common online sites and look for the best deal. You could even find a good deal online, print it off and go into your local Toyota dealer and ask if they'll price match.
  15. How To Install Rear Swaybar:

    Tundra
Glad to hear it was helpful for you! Not sure on your first question. Regarding your second, the bar should only go one way. If you managed to get it on, then it's on correctly.
  16. Short Distance Overload

    Tundra
    You're arguing.
  17. Short Distance Overload

    Tundra
Maybe you should read the whole thread instead of picking the final statement out of a discussion that has evolved and try and relate it to the original post. Because you haven't read the whole thread, here was my fist post in response to the question of whether or not to do a one time 3K pound...
  18. Short Distance Overload

    Tundra
The numbers they "come up with" are conservative if you actually know the components that are being used, and those numbers truly have more to do with OEM tires and licensing requirements. For example, one year Dodge magically increased their towing capacity by 700 pounds without changing a...
  19. Short Distance Overload

    Tundra
Just because the rear suspension is resting on the bump stops does NOT mean there is no longer any available compliance (effective suspension) for the rear of the truck. I want to know why you think sitting on the bump stops means the truck won't be able to brake effectively any more.
  20. Short Distance Overload

    Tundra
So? That does not mean there is no effective suspension.
