History
A week ago, vehicle erupted into flames (engine compartment) at about 60 mpg, on right hand side of hood. Loud whump sound on right side, then smoke quickly followed by flames from hood and wheel well area. Brakes failed. Used E-brake and got vehicle stopped on shoulder. Engine compartment and firewall side of cabin were totaled within 15 minutes. No clue what caused it! Had been a reliable vehicle with approximately 180,000 miles on it. Well maintained - to no avail.
