Hey all, been a while, I'm having some trouble with my control knobs for my AC/heater. Every time I try to switch between where the air blows I break a damn knob, thanks to it being made of plastic. I remember a while back there was someone making aluminum ones but I can't for the life of me remember who it was and I can't seem to find them in the aftermarket. Anyone have any leads or knowledge of these?

That is not normal... try spraying some "dry" lube on them with the knobs off. Not aluminum, but $13 for the set on Amazon. Chap

Your dealing with an 18 year old truck so stuff could be building up on the cables and doors. Trace them back to the HVAC unit and make sure they actually move as easily as they should. Most likely the cables or blend doors are just in need of some lube as Chap stated.
Lots of threads on the subject already. Some are crap and it takes a few minutes to do some searching but they're out there.
