Odd problem here, while driving on cruise control for say 20 minuets, I go step on the brake pedel and it is hard to to push at first. then settles down to normal. Just as you would say getting off at an exit or just braking because you have to. Now if I turn the cruise control off before I brake the pedel is normal. No leaks in the system fluids all good to go. Just can not find any reason for it to happen. Thoughts? truck has 177,000 miles.

My thoughts on it would be a lack of vacuum but I’m not sure. Engine vacuum usually decreases with higher rpm. After driving a while like that it could take a couple seconds after the cruise is off to build vacuum back up and soften the pedal. I know the feeling you’re talking about. My Tundra does it. My Durango does it worse

See if there’s any one way valves in the vacuum system and check them to see if they’re working. Also check for vacuum leaks. Other than that I honestly don’t know what could be the issue
