I tried to get the rear rotors off the rear of our 04 4runner, no go....Why? I noticed there is some kind of spring mechanism keeping it in place, how does this work? how do I disengage it?

BEFORE YOU FLAME ME FOR NOT SEARCHING...the search function is not working at this time.

Thanks in advance.

No flame needed :)

I don't remember anything special when I did mine, but my memory is horrible. Let me check the book unless someone else can jump in first.

So after moer research...I'm an idiot...I had the parking brake on. I didn't know that there are brake shoes in the rear discs hence my inability to get them off....lesson learned.....

I was going to mention that, but didn't want to sound insulting. :D
I have done much worse like the time I put my rear Honda calipers in a vice because I couldn't get them to compress only to find out that the pistons screw into the caliper.
