I have noticed a metal scraping sound coming from the front left side of my 04 Tundra DC. The sound only happens when I turn left, like into a parking space or a driveway. I took the front tire off, turned the wheel left and spun the rotor and cant duplicate the sound. I suspect a wheel bearing or whel hub, truck has just turned 100,000 miles. Any thoughts or advice on what to replace is greatly appreciated.

Before you take stuff apart, try to jack up the truck so the left wheel is off the ground. Now shake it and see if there is any play ( top / bottom and right / left ).

If you can move the wheel 1/4 inch or so in any direction you probably have a worn out bearing.

Do you hear the grinding sound in 4X2 and 4X4 modes ?

I would take it to a shop to ease my mind as a ball joint or a hub might be bad.
