So I'm upgrading my truck with 35" tires and 20" rims. Do you think I should upgrade to a bigger brake? Would it really be necessary?

Brakes are already necessary as the factory stuff sucks. Increasing your wheel/tire size will make it all the more necessary. As long as you have enough clearance for the new tires then you should be good. You will also need to correct the ecu for the tire size change.

Any suggestions on bigger brakes? I only know of the TRD kit.

I'm using the ebc usr sport slotted rotors with the ebc yellowstuff 4000 series kevlar pads and they grip like you wouldn't believe. I also replaced the stock rubber brake lines with russell ss lines which also firmed up the pedal feel even more.
