New Tundra owner here - found a sweet deal on a 07 double cab 4.0l that was hard to pass up. I'm looking to boost its hp given its weaker 4.0l engine compared to the 5.7l. I've read CAI, muffler, and tips are decent ways to achieve this. For the folks that have done so, what have y'all used to upgrade these? Any recommendations or products to stay away from?

Seems like an upgraded exhaust system could also make a lot of sense. Has anyone done this with their previous 4.0l exhaust system? If so, what package did you end up going with? Much appreciated.

Welcome to the site. I did a before and after dyno on my 05 years back with an aftermarket exhaust and got a whopping 1.7hp, and that was at the top of the rev range. Unless you can put a blower or a turbo on it you wont net any gains you could actually feel. Sure, the noise from intakes or exhaust will make you think you've got more power, but even if you gained 10hp from a combined intake and exhaust, those gains would also only be realized at the top of the rev range, so how often would you be there? Enjoy your new truck the way it is or buy those things because to you they will sound good or look good.

Appreciate the feedback. Seems like it'd be quite a job for little to no gain in hp... Might be a silly question, but what are you referring to when you say "blower"? Thanks

Questions are never silly. You never know unless you ask.
Blower is a slang term for super charger.
And be careful with exhaust for a V6 if you do ever go that route. No exhaust in the world will make a V6 sound like a V8. By all means pimp it out however you want though, its your truck so make it yours.
