its common just pop it in place by hand

So you can push it in and it stays and looks fine but when on its about an inch too high off of the window. Just doesn’t stay against the window at alll.

this looks exactly what is wrong with mine. it's like -10 out out so maybe i'll wait a few months but going to look at it with this in mind tomorrow.

Cool, I Just noticed I had this same problem the other day on my 2016, it was just uselessly waiving in mid air, now I have a fix, I may try lubing the stock components first.

I don't think lube will help the hinge, you won't believe how tight it is!
