I have searched this forum and only found one other post with this issue however no fix was mentioned.

My truck locks itself randomly. Sometimes for HOURS, it will do it and then for hours, it will be fine. Driving me crazy. I have been reading the service manual and tried unplugging J3 from the main body ECU, and then just J4-But this continues? Does anyone know what the heck is going on and how to fix this?

I have unplugged both manual locking switches(driver side and passenger side), I have replaced the battery in keyfob.

NOTE: It did this a year or so ago when he had a lot of rain, and conditions are the same now. Very wet around here. SO I am sure its a short somewhere, but where?

Thanks in advance.

I think I read about this on here. Water leaking down the A pillar and getting into the JB box but I cant say if its right or left side but root cause was a windshield water leak so that would be step one, fix the leak.

I have no signs of leaking, but I will try and find the A pillar and confirm. Thank you for responding.

Wherever I read it, its not like there was a huge pool of water. It was a very small amount of moisture that over time corroded the wires in the JB box. Point is you might have to pull the lower A pillar cover, A pillar etc to find it.
