Well, after years of waiting for a snorkel to come available for our trucks and no progress made I pulled the trigger and ordered a snorkel for the 100 series LC.

I know it's been done, but I've never found a writeup on the installation.

It may be slow progress as I'll be pretty busy with work over the next few weeks but it'll slowly come together.

First look- The factory antenna will need to be removed. I found taking the fender off is the easiest way, and while it's off that'll make drilling holes that much easier.

The fender actually is quite easy to take off.

Stay tuned.

The electronics on these motors are sealed. Snorkels are not just cosmetic even if they dont get used for water. They provide cleaner air not being picked up through the wheel well. They work great in dusty conditions.

Too bad the new snorkel has trapped your dogs legs

I'm interested to see how it all turns out, good luck!

Thoughts on what you're going to do to seal the electronics under the hood, or is this just cosmetic?
I don't plan on being a boat, or going up over my windshield. Once you form a nice bow wave out in front of your vehicle it's normally smooth sailing. But I have ran into the wave in the past and had water come up over the hood. This will at least put that worry to ease.

You could go on and on with water-proofing everything, electronics, electric fan, yada yada yada.. Equipment under the hood is for the most part designed to get wet, just not be submarined.

I think I'd be a prime candidate for a snorkel.

I remember seeing the tundra that had this done, and it looked pretty good.

Looks like somebody got an RTT :D. Wanna come use it next weekend? Goin to Beef Basin and Needles, Friday through Sunday-ish. ;)
Which weekend? This coming weekend? (Mothers Day weekend) or the following? I'll be up in Montrose this coming weekend. I'm going to have to start looking into the area you're talking about though, heard good things!
