My 2005 Tundra V8 & 2007 4Runner V8 both idle fast on startup and it takes several minutes to idle down at times. Been times I must stand on brakes to stop at end of my driveway, about 150yrds from cold take off. I cleaned and adjusted everything with no change. Nature of the beast it seems?
So far mine idled down for me but I know how it feels. Id have to chase it down if it stayed high.
Vacuum leak, IAC or Throttle body, brake booster hose leak idk but I'd find it asap.
Please post your findings it may help us all out. Thanks

How does the Throttle Position Sensor look? Disconnect the throttle cable and clean the unit if needed. That spring mechanism can get cruddy. Then spray some WD40 on it. Then give it a few back and forth turns, reconnect cable. Just a thought... Chap
I been there done that with no change.
Both my V8's done the same way and I read about many doing it so it may be how they were programed by Toy idk? Everything was done in two different dealerships in different states even. Cleaned everything inside both engines, I did it and dealerships did it too. Never changed my TPS out btw? When its cable related it wont just do it on cold starts fwiw...thanks
