2006 Toyota Tundra, good to use synthetic oil?

I owned a 2000 Tundra for 16 years and I used regular dino oil until about 100k miles, then I switched to a synthetic blend. When I traded it 2 years ago it was still going strong and burned no oil.

Currently, I own a 2005 Sequoia that burns no oil and I use synthetic blend in it too...it has 189000 miles and runs like new. I just purchased a super clean 05 Tundra XSP 2wd with a little under 94000 miles and guess what...synthetic blend will be used going forward.

Lastly, I’ve read that switching to synthetic when you’ve always used regular oil could cause oil leaks. Although, your truck has very few miles the seals are still 12 years old. I don’t how true that is, but I’m sure youcan find plenty of info to prove or disapprove the aforementioned statement. Also, these trucks were designed to run “forever” on regular oil, so it seems like a waste to start using synthetic now. If the truck is being used in an extreme environment or being used heavily, well that’s a whole other topic.

Disregard my signature it’s 2 years old...man I miss that truck!!!
