2006 4.7 SR5 Tundra with 32,000 original miles. It's burning about a quart and a half every 3,000 miles. Running mobil 1, and have had good luck with it in the past. Two things jump to mind, the first one is it is being pulled throuth the valve guides.Second, by the piston rings. The engine runs fine, no noises or codes. It has a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty I purchased when I bought the truck. Any ideas other than mine?

That sounds like a lot of oil there. I have 65k and I am not burning any to speak of. I have been using Amosil 5-30 since I bought mine with 48k on it. As was suggested drop it off and tell them. Since you have a warranty maybe you can get a new motor...

How long has it been doing this? I know you said every 3K miles, but how
many 3K miles have you gone with this happening? It could be quite a few
things. Are there any signs of oil leaking around the oil pan or underneath
the truck? It might be something where it isn't leaking while parked, but while
you're driving with the oil pressure increased it could be leaking then. Drop
the skid plate and really get in there and look for any signs of leaking.

With the low miles I don't think it would be worn pistons or cylinders, which
is a good thing, but you never know. I have over 100K miles on my
2002 and every time I change my oil the level is right where it was since the
last time I changed it. Good luck.

That is a good point. It could be a leaking seal but usually you will smell burning oil from somewhere.... ???

After initial brake in.

I'm a machinist by trade, so I used to build engines.

Could be the rings not clocked right on the pistons.

Seen that before.

I checked for leaks with the skid pan down, only oil dripping is from me changing the filter from topside.

It's all bone dry.
