Hi all,

As I'm sure a lot of you are aware there are no good options (bull bar/light bar/etc) for our vehicles that do not interfere with the Dynamic Laser Cruise Control.

I am working with Defiant Products to develop a light bar for our vehicles that could hold at least 2 lights (Hella/PIAA/KC/etc). I just want to take a quick poll to see if you have any genuine interest in a product like this (i.e. light bar) for your vehicle or if I should just ask him to develop a one off for me.

Thanks

Funny, as I'm sure you're aware you can use any bull bar you want b/c it doesn't interfere with the vehicle. The sonar(?) on the front of the Platinum cannot be blocked. Carry on.:biggrin1:

I'd be interested in theory. Have to check their work first, I'll google them later. This is a great thread, it looks nobody in the aftermarket is looking at what makes the Platinum different: ALL bull bars interfere with the Laser Cruise Control emitter/receiver, same thing with supension lift/drops/after market bags, apparently they're not even aware abotu the Platinum's auto leveling rear suspension...I'd love to see aftermarket bags to replace my stock ones and get some drop/lift...

I believe the 2008/2009 Platinums were able to have stuff added to them including DLCC, 2010 Platinums all come fully loaded with every available option.

Any update to this thread? I just got a 2011 Platinum last week and I'm interested in a bull bar/light bar.

I had a light bar custom made by member of another forum I belong to. 1/4" thick stainless steel powdercoated black holding 2 Hella Black Magic 500 series lights.

Do you have any pics of this bull bar/light bar?

I just got a 2011 Sequoia Platinum a couple weeks ago and I'm interested in adding a Bull Bar as well....but the DLCC interference is a concern.

It works fine, however, 95% of the time I switch to normal cruise mode because I am not a big fan of the dynamic system. I figured it wouldn't work when I put the bar on there and I was okay with it not working...but it still does.

kfinn1,

I just looked at the picture in your profile and it's hard to tell where the DLCC is. It's really not affected by the bull bar? Now that I know how to turn DLCC off, I'm not necessarily all that worried if I would disable it by putting on this bull bar.

Do you have the exact model of the Westin and the lights that you put on it?

Regards,
Todd

Well I guess I lied to you. When I purchased it I was told it was Westin, but going back to look up the model number of what they shipped me I have discovered that it isn't. I wonder if they sent me the wrong bull bar? Either way I like it, so I guess it doesn't matter. The model is Toyota-BB-TAK024B and the lights are PIAA 520 Series #5293 Ion Crystal 6" Driving Lights.

I have the PIAAs wired to the high beams and they're pretty awesome. Wish they were a white beam instead of yellow, but they make a pretty dramatic difference driving around the rural backroads of Kentucky.
