1280 miles on the odometer and I went underneath to look for the oil filter to do my first oil change to convert my truck to Amsoil 0w20 Synthetic... I noticed the front crossmember was wet... WFT!? I took off the skid plate and viola... oil dripping... I followed the leak to the bottom of the timing chain cover where some genius either over-torqued the cover bolts or misaligned the gasket because the gasket was squeezed out at the gap.... I am soo pissed... I had a 2000 and 2006 Tundra... no leaks... ever... Now I drop 47k on a Limited Crewmax 5.7 and oil leak?

Anyone else have this???!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????!

Dealer called me next am... They confirm a 'rare' timing chain cover leak that is apparently common only on the tacos 05 an up with about 30k miles, but never a 5.7.. they have never cracked one open since 07 when they came out...

-nervous that all the bolts are not put back right....

I'll keep u posted

I wouldn't be nervous or upset. Chit happens and thats why they put warranty on these things.
