MY 2011 Tundra double 5.7 limited with about 70k miles just started stalling the other day. The first time happened in my driveway after I got home from some errands. The rpms just slowly dropped until the truck stalled. The truck would then start right back up but about 20 seconds later drop rpms and stall again. I was able to prevent the truck from stalling once by revving the engine but it stalled a short time later.

I thought it could be bad fuel so I added some treatment and filled the tank up with new fuel. I drove to the store and as I was leaving the truck started losing power as I was driving about 50mph and then stalled leaving me coasting to a parking lot. Again the truck would start back up but stall about 10-20 seconds later. Revving the engine didn't seem to help. I limped it to a repair shop down the street and of course they can't replicate it so they can't fix it. They ran the codes and there was nothing and no CEL. Any ideas where to start? Thank you.

Update

So the garage I had the truck at couldn’t find anything wrong with the truck so they didn’t do any repairs. I drove the truck for about 2 hours and it ran fine so I took the truck home.

Today I drove it about 20 mins to the store. On my way home it started to stall again. It did the same thing, stalled after 20-30 seconds then started back up. I limped it home. What would cause the truck to stall but start back up and have full power for a little bit? There’s no codes in the bank or cel either.

Well I replaced the fuel pump assembly a couple weeks ago and things were going good. Truck was running good, drove it around a bit, even pulled a trailer. Today while I was pulling a trailer it started stalling again. Same as before. Maybe a half hour into the truck running it stalled. Then started up and ran for a little while and stalled again. Each time the truck would stay on for a shorter duration before stalling until the point where it stalls right after restarting. It seems to happen when the humidity is high. Still isn't throwing any codes and the check engine light is off. Any ideas?

Well $645 later the trucks running again. I was close with the fuel pump but it was actually the fuel pump driver module. The dealer stocks them but there isn't a ton of info online about this thing. I guess it regulates the voltage to the pump so it can raise and lower the fuel pressure. Probably an easy fix if I could've found it, its located near the rear on the inside of the frame. Hopefully this can save someone else if they have a similar issue.

Hello: I just saw your older post. Is your Tundra working well now? I have a 2011 (112,000 miles - 4.6 liter) that has the same behaviors as what you described. My fuel pump module was replaced first (vehicle still was stalling). Fuel pump was replaced. Relay up front was also replaced. All OEM parts. My truck is still doing the same thing by stalling once engine is warmed up, turned off, then restarted it will stall. Any ideas?

Have you had any further problems pertaining to this situation?
