Is anyone using a 5.5 bed to tow a 5th wheel trailer. I am trying to locate a hitch setup the keep the trailer from hitting the cab of pickup in tight turns. I tried a sidewinder and slider hitch but still don't have total clearance. I am using universal rails with a Pro Series 16K hitch. The head is sitting approx 5-6 inches in front of center axle. The universal rail 30035 shows the rear rail 29 3/4 inches from rear of bed. The custom kit #58058 shows the rear rail at 27 9/16 from rear of bed. That would pick up just over 2 1/2 inches but was told the custom rail would not fit my pickup. ?? if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I know I am not the only person towing with a Tundra. The truck does great towing if I just just get this kink worked out.
Thanks in advance for reading my post and your input !
