On the 18" trd wheel, not sure which size to get. BFG AT's arent cheap so I want to make a good choice. Of course I want the 305's and I know the truck can take the 305's but I'm concerned about having too much tire on the wheel as the 305's are considerably larger than stock. I've seen a new set of BFG 305/55-20 on a factory wheels where the edges of the tire were not hitting the ground due to the width of the wheel "pinching" the tire and causing the center to bow out causing uneven tire wear at the very least. Man it looked so nice, but function before form for me... I'd really like to hear experiences from those running the 305's in 18". All replies appreciated.

Go with the 305's they fit fine on the 18" wheel. I agree with the 305's you dont reall NEED a lift but it looks 100% better with it.

I will say it again the tundra is a pretty big, long truck and needs bigger tires to look in propotion IMO. The 275's look tiny on it and 285's are not much bigger.....soooo

I have 285 BFG KO's on my truck. take a look in my pictures. I love the tires. If you really want to go big id go with the 305's but you better get a leveling kit.

The 285's are barely bigger. I might get a 2.5 or 3 inch lift but i plan on keeping the 285's. I like going off road and they get the job done well.

I've got the 305's on my stock TRD rims and have no problem with the tread not touching the ground, even on the outsides. Check out my pics to see them for yourself. You'll want to get a leveling kit for sure. I had the RevTek 2.5" front/1"rear lift installed by my dealer prior to purchase. Looks great!

Thanks for the responses so far but still would like to know about the 305's on the TRD 18" wheel. I've had BFG 285 -20 changed out to the 305 -20 and even had a 2.5 readylift lift kit! Why I removed the lift kit is another story... Several $ later I have decided that 18" with some sidewall is where I need to be for off-road farm and towing use... I've seen several posted on here with TRD 305's but havn't heard back from them yet. Wheel swap will hopefully be in a few days then it will be tire time!!!

Dorado I just got the FedEx Tracking # sent to me for my 305 BFG A/T , when I get them installed and aligned I ll post pics for you As soon as they are mounted.. I taking pics of my truck from Stock to Finish. Im not doing too many mods as it is a lease and no need to dump money in a truck that I will be returning .. its a writeoff for the beach business anyways.. But unlike alot of people that lift the truck for show , I need the 4x4 and tires for the driving of the beach daily.

I have 305/65/18's BFG a/t on stock TRD wheels with ready lift. Put over 6k on them with no issues. As of today, I would replace them with same.

I have the 305's as well with over 6k on them with no problems. Why waiste your money on 285's for such a small increase?

Still dealing with making a good decision... I'm thinking that the cupping problem with the 305-20's is due to the lack of sidewall in relation to the widths of the tire and wheel. Seems like the increase in sidewall on the 18's will keep this from being a problem. I want the 305-18's but can not stand to have the same cupping problem as with the 20's... The guy at the tire store thinks I'm crazy to concern over this, but it's my truck and $$ so I'd like to ask for everyone to post photos of their 305 or 285 on 18" wheels. All help is greatly appreciated...

Could you do the BFGoodrich 305/60/18 Mud-Terrain T/A KM2's with a spacer and not lift the Tundra? Wouldn't the 305/60 combo be close to the stock 275/65 combo in height? If so, speed and milage would not be off. Then if you did a spacer 1/2 as thick as the difference in tire width, would there be any rubbing? Just a few nubbie questions....

The 305/60/18 Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 according to Tirerack spec's is 32.6x12.2, so you should be fine stock!

The 305's are nearly an inch taller than the 285's, even though the measurement is for width. If you don't believe me, enter the sizes into a tire size calculator (find on google) and see for yourself. This was a major contributor to my getting the 305/65R18 BFG AT/KO's on my rig. They look awesome, and ride even better!

305/65/18's are taller! Weverb asked about BFGoodrich 305/60/18 Mud-Terrain T/A KM2's the 305/60 is 32.6", a BFGoodrichrich All-Terrain T/A KO 285/65/18 is 32.8". As of now the KM2's Dont come in a 305/65/18. The 60 to 65 series makes a difference!

does going with big tire mess up your odometer/speedometer? Say like you're going 60 but it shows you're going like 65 or something? also, you drive 1 mile but odometer records you as 1.5 or something like that??? (numbers are exaggerations for example, pattern may be reversed).
From other posts I have read, everything will be off. According to others, your spedo will say 60 but you will be doing about 7% faster. Your trip meter will say 1 mile and you will have actually traveled more.

I am looking for more width for better grip. I don't want to have to deal with the problems of larger tires. I use my truck for work and have to log all miles. I don't want to complicate my paperwork any more than it already is. I just wish the made the A/T's in a 60 series profile.
