Hey guys I'm trying to replace the front wheel bearing in my 02 Tundra 4x4 I have a service manual from toyota but don't have the cash for all the special service tools. Does anyone here have an alternative method for getting the hub off the spindle so I can remove and replace the wheel bearing. I have the brakes off the dust cap off and the cv retainer and nut off and the upper and lower ball joints disconnected so I can pull the spindle and hub off the truck but then what? Any help appreciated need to get to work on Monday LOL.

You are not going to be tapping out the bearing. You will probably need a 50 ton press to get that bearing out.

It needs to be pressed out....and do not use a hammer and socket you will ruin the hub....

Take the hub and the new bearing to the dealer and have them do it. I couldn't find any machine shop that would touch it. It takes a heavy duty press and a special jif to hold it. It cost me around $50 per side when I switched to manual hubs.

Yeah that has to be pressed out. When I did one of mine a 20 ton press barely did the job. They aren't going to just tap out. Sorry

question about doing this job? Whenu buy a new hub dosent it come with the bearing in it ?i am in need of doing my bearings and from what I have been reading just doing the bearing alone sounds like a pain in my wallet, but if the hub already has it in then half the battle is won. Thanks
