Well after WAY to long i finally started the truck! It was hard to start and didn't run good at all. After messing around with it and found out i had switched 3 of the coils around so it was running on 5 cylinders instead of 8. I cant drive it yet because im waiting on one rubber coupling for the turbo so i can secure the intake pipe and I am also waiting on an air filter to come in. I cant wait to actually drive it!:D

yup
I drove the truck for about 5 min and smoke was coming from the exhaust. I stuck it up on the lift and found that the turbo was blowing oil so i had to get it rebuilt. Haven't tuned the truck at all for the turbo yet. but the engine it self is running great. It seems like every step i make forward i run into a problem that sets me back a few weeks.

I got a factory plastic intake from a buddy at toyota. Blocked the intake ports, with some steal plates and gaskets. I charged it with an air compressoir and it started leaking past the seals for the intake tunning rods at about 14psi and split down the middle at about 20psi. I think the 7 psi I am running is safe for the intake. I think 10 psi would be safe. He gave me that other intake because I didnt want to split the one I had on my truck during a run!
Thats rediculous LS1's don't do that!

Well i finally got to run the truck hard with the turbo. It felt really strong even at 5 psi but i keep blowing the intake piping off. I had welded a lip on all the intake pipe except this one pipe. looks like i have to do it on this too but other then that im super happy with the power it was producing!!:D

Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics. I fixed the intake so know its not blowing off but i am only getting about 3-5 psi most the time no more than 4 psi. I feel like i should be getting more then that. I guess i have to look for intake leaks. is there a method to finding intake leaks? the turbo i have is a master power mpt70 with a .96 exhaust that wouldn't be to big would it? Im starting to see boost at about 4500rpms

its hard to make a video were i am. there are cops everywhere! once i make sure i have no leaks and am building boost a little sooner i will try to make a video.
also when im running easy i have air/fuel ratio of 13 to 1 but when i hit the gas im immediately down to 9.5 or 10 to one witch is really rich and probably robbing some power.

Well I went over the turbo setup today and I eventually found my leak. I had the blow off valve hooked up to
The Intake, these trucks have two different intake runners in the manifold one short and one long that it
switches between. Well I'm only using one side, the short ones. And I had the blow-off valve hooked to the
one nipple That is in the wrong runner an it created a vacuum opening up the blow-off valve the entire time
the engine is Running.
So now I am hitting 10 psi and man this is pulling like a rocket ship!!!!! I started spinning at 20mph!
I am so pleased with this setup :D

You said you're turbo is blowing oil, my turbo charged silverado 5.3 did the same thing due the the fact I didn't have the PCV system set up right, boosting the crankcase. I tried running filters on both valve covers venting to atmosphere. what seemed to work was running the PCV valve stock to intake if it is check valve type and the other valve cover I ran to the intake filter of the turbocharger. When under boost it would suck the crankcase and the check valve (PCV) closed, at idle vent crankcase with turbo filter and open PCV pulling form crankcase!

Thanks i will check that but i believe that it is my turbo. It also seems to be making a tinkling noise and isn't spooling as fast as it should. i am really starting to not like this turbo. Its making me want a Garrett duel bb turbo.

Not trying to be a negative nancy as I think your build is awesome and I am sure you will have a lot of people "jones-ing" to do/ want to do/ or dream to do something similar to what you are. I have full respect for your project and for what you are accomplishing. I am assuming this will be on the to-do list once everything is up and running and where you are happy with the set-up but please make sure you clean up that wiring. It takes away a lot from all the care you put into painting the engine pieces and the routing of the charge pipes, etc.

Again, you have an incredible project and cannot wait to see some videos of that because I bet you are going to be laying down some serious numbers that are going to make those s/c'ed guys jealous with all the extra torque you will be putting down and needless to say if you go with a boost controller you will be able to easily change your boost settings where they do not have quiet the ease.

Have you thought about a meth injection kit? Those seem to help out as well as I read somewhere they have some kit that blows nitrous over the intercooler to lower the charged air temp further. Just some thoughts... look forward to reading more!

No negativity taken. I actually have felt embarrassed about even showing pictures because of the wiring. I just ordered some wiring loom to help clean it up. I have also been rerouting vacuum hoses and fuel lines. I still want to reroute my heater hoses and stuff like that. I really want to get the engine compartment looking cleaner then factory.

I haven't thought about meth injection. As of right now im only running 6 psi so i shouldn't need it. Maybe i will when i turn up the boost. I will keep an eye on my intake air temps just to make sure.

I do have a question i want to know what size injectors come with the trd supercharger? I bought my engine used and it had cracked pistons, well looking through pictures of the trd supercharger installs online i found out that i have trd injectors so apparently this engine had the supercharger on it before i bought it and they forgot to take of the bigger injectors off witch is good for me!

Not trying to beat a dead horse but since you mentioned you want the wiring to look cleaner then stock, after a quick web search I found this DIY of someone doing a wire tuck, its totally different vehicle, wiring, etc but it gives ideas as to how to hide wiring and make that engine bay extra clean and clutter free.

Got started on my Wire Tuck! 56k warning(I hope I know what I'm doing...) - HondaSwap Forums

Unfortunately I cannot give you any info on the sizing for the injectors, hopefully one of the s/c'ed guys can chime in on that. I guess worst case scenario is raise boost and monitor the duty load on the injectors?? I am not too versed on injectors but my understanding is that if you do not want to get bigger injectors you can actually "rebuild" the current ones to flow more. However, with a project like yours I am assuming its not an issue to buy the correct size (not trying to be arrogant, sorry if that came across as so).

Also another thing I am not sure of is our fuel systems, I know from other cars I had when people tried to boost them there were limitations for the amount of fuel they could pump (not because of the pump or the rail) but because there was not a fuel return for excess fuel that was not used. My info might be a little off on that but I remember reading of people having those sorts of issues. Just a little something else you might have to contend with when increasing the boost. You and the rest of the people on this forum know much more then I about this subject but I just wanted to throw out some things just to help with that final checklist. Custom mods always seem to have bugs to work out, even after you think you got everything. However as you are starting to see, the payoff will be more then worth all the headache that lead up to it.

I think someone gave you this link in a previous post, I am not going to bother to look but this might help with your injector issue or at least give you a good baseline to figure out where you need to be.

RC Fuel Injection

If you want to find out what you are currently running and can be down a vehicle for a bit I know you can remove the injector and have a flow analysis done on it.

I was initially thinking my injectors were not going to be able to keep up but they did and the truck actually went rich. Now i know why, after finding out i already had the bigger injectors. I have upgraded the fuel pump and fuel line size to the engine. These engines come with a fuel return so thats no problem.

That really did make the engine compartment look good. Maybe one day but thats a lot of work and for now i want to be able to drive it some.
