I have a 97 camry Le 2.2liter engin with california emissions and about 185,000 miles on it. Had my check engine light come on and took it to the mechanic. They said that the code was for my catalytic converter. I had just replaced my o2 sensor a month ago and now its my converter. I did find out that there are two converters on the car. One is with a manifold and the other is with the straight pipe. I do remember that the one with the straight pipe was replaced about two years ago. So I asked the mechanic if there is a way to find out which one it is. They said no....that it is better to replace both. Well, the manifold one is about $350 and the straight pipe one is about $900. Can anyone help me with any advise such as which to replace, since I did replace one two years ago, and also is there a way to get them cheaper after market parts. I know it has califonia emissions so the parts are hard to get, but any help would be great.

Thanks
