Well guys, Im a frequent to the desert, ie: trail running, drylake runs, typical high dust situations. Doesn't help that I live in Las Vegas. (Average 3 inches of rain per year) This year we've only gotten 2 inches of rain. :td: Moving on, I almost threw out my K&N drop in filter because I thought it was bypassing like crazy. So as I cleaned it the last couple times, (Yes, properly oiling it every time) I also cleaned off the throttle plate, and inside of the airbox. So i did a little test. This last time i cleaned the K&N i lightly sprayed around the top of the inside of the airbox lid with K&N oil hoping to see where the dirt is getting in from. COME TO FIND OUT ,:shocked3d: the middle of the airbox lid is deciding to bow out! So for a quick and temporary bandaid, I lined the inside of the top and bottom sealing portion of the airbox lid, intake tube to the box, and tube to the throttle body with marine grease. Yes, probably a bad idea, but it was the only thing i could think of at the moment until i could come up with a solution to my issue. Has anyone run into this before? Has anyone even looked or wondered? You might wanna go check. Anyone have any ideas?
