Antenna or what?

738 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Salty_Dog
My 2001, Tacoma, stock radio, is not receiving like it did a few weeks ago. At first I thought we were just getting some kind of interference but now I just don't know. It works fine up here on the mountain where I live but as I go lower it looses it's signal on allot of stations that were fine before. Could it be a loose antenna? Anyone know how to get back behind it to check it? Anything else that could cause bad reception that quick? Thanks for any suggestions or info you may have, Mike

Mike:

As a fellow Mountaineer, I feel your pain. Radio reception isn't always that great in them hills and hollers.

One thing I might check is for corrosion around where the antenna mounts on the fender. If you don't have a good ground connection to the fender, that can cause you problems.
