I was planning to buy a new 2015 Toyota and eventually (next year or two) buy a TRD supercharger for it. Unexpected home issues from a storm have pushed my Tundra budget into 2016. Now I hear that Toyota, for whatever reason, has decided to cease production of it's TRD superchargers. If that's the case and I buy a 2016 Tundra, I will not be able to supercharge it. SO, my question is, does anyone other than Toyota (TRD) make a supercharger for the Tundra? I can't find a single source online.

Leaks of the new Lexus and Toyota Land cruiser say it will retain it's 5.7 seemingly unchanged. Not sure why then they would stop making the Supercharger as it wouldn't need changed or modified in any way. My only hope is maybe a factory option with the supercharger already installed or maybe a turbo!

The factory Supercharger is the main thing pulling me toward a Tundra. If I can't get it supercharged, I may end up with a GMC instead.

I think, but not sure, that Eaton is behind the TRD supercharger. It would be a custom install and you'd have to get a unichip or something like that to tune to it.

Why? I'm guessing they are changing the powertrain in 2017 or 2018. They can probably clear the shelves with the demand in the 2015's and under and they won't bother with emissions testing for 2016.

Supercharged Tundra is awesome but it's pretty powerful even without. I'd test drive that Tundra and that Sierra and look at the sticker before making that choice.

Shoot, how about a used 2012 Tundra and get your supercharger now, that is.... if you can still find one :)

The TRD supercharger was made by magnuson. Since they have stopped the TRD Magnuson has released the kit with their name on it now. The only difference is the top plate with the name and the air box. the air box is different because it was a trd part. I just got my kit yesterday and it is exactly the same and comes with a handheld to program your ecu.
