This truck was our first Toyota purchase and I have been pleasantly surprised that nothing has broken. During our 20's, we thought that we were Ford people because my husband's first car was a used '81 Mustang and he had no problems. Since then, he has been a Ford fanatic. We've been through (each brand new) a '98 Escort ZX2, '99 Ranger, '00 Contour SVT, '02 Focus, and '06 Mustang GT. We've also bought a few Fords used (Tauruses). We're 32 and 33 and you don't even want to know how many cars we've been through! All had problems, even the new ones. I went out on a limb and bought this Toyota and I am so glad that I did. The only thing that's gone out in the nearly 4 years that I've had it is the backlight for the "D" on the gear shift. The spring that holds the middle console closed was broken when I bought it, so I just have to hold the flap up when I close it. No big deal. Just wondering what I can expect in the next few years. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that the brake light comes on sporadically, but it doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Do you mean the brake light on the instrument cluster? That might just be low brake fluid in the reservoir. As far as everything else, just keep up on the maintenance and you should be fine. There are occasional Sequoia quirks such as the rear door handle being brittle, or the window getting stuck...which are both usually simple fixes. It's still a mechanical machine, and things may go bad. Enjoy the nice family wagon!
