I am getting new tires over spring break, well hopefully, and I have been looking at different tires. I did a search to see if I could find any reviews on here but couldn't find anything. So has anybody ran these Falken Ziex S/TZ-04 on an 18 inch wheel??? I have read many good reviews about them and they seem really good. My Tundra is 2wd, no mudding or what not, just the occasional dirt road to the deer lease but if it's muddy we take our big hunting rig. So 90% of my driving is on paved roads. I pretty much narrowed my search for tires down to the Michelin LTX A/T but being priced at $242 a tire these Falken's really interested me at $165. So any comments, experiences, etc.??? By the way I know tires have been beaten to death on here but it's usually over BFG's, Terra Grapplers, and what not. Haven't heard anything on the Falken's.

dont know about truck tires but i had falkens on a ricer car several years ago. great tire for the money.

New tires are near the top of my "spending-money-for-the-truck" list for summer ..... and I've narrowed it down to the:
Falcon Ziex S/TZ:

and the Cooper Zeon LTZ:

The Falcons get great reviews over at TireRack.com .... and so do these Coopers, which surprisingly, get good "pavement-traction" reviews also --- and they look pretty aggressive for a tire that gets good dry-pavement reviews. I think the coopers cost about $50/more per tire.... so it comes down to what look you want. But, I think either one would be a good choice.

I get michelin ltx m/s tires, I think its the best road tire for a truck you can get, the price for the ltx a/t's you said is alittle high, check at Americas tire or discount tire (same company) they offer the best prices and service out of all the tire places ive delt with

i have the coopers and they are sweet , you will love them as soon as you turn the first corner.....

My buddy just bought those Cooper Zeon's and they are sweet looking but maybe a little too aggressive of a tread for my needs....

I have a set of the Falken Ziex S/TZ-01 's, Though I haven't put them on the truck. They look much better than the 04's, Fit better. but main reason I got them, Superior traction. I'll get them put on when weather warms up a little bit. The 01's are $133 tire at discount Tire.

Look at the HANKOOK RF10 for an aggressive quite road tire THAT is A/T.

I have MICH AT/2 AND NEXT ARE THE KOOKS.

I thought so too, but the Coopers and Falcon's get comparable reviews, for both off-road AND street. My guess is that they're a street-tire with an off-road look.

Got the Zeons a few months ago. 275/70/18 They are great in the mud and snow and are very quiet on the highway. Discount Tires, Wheels & ATV | Treadepot.com has a great price on them

Not sure what you're referring to... On Discount Tire's website, you can buy the Falcon's (275/55/20) for $138/ea .. or the Bridgestone Duelers for $176/ea --- that's about $170 after tax MORE for the Bridestones, which I think most people on TS will agree the stock Bridgestones that come on our trucks are garbage.

So, what do you mean "You get what you pay for" ??? When I read reviews on TireRack, most people complain about their Michelin stock tires, regardless of the vehicle --- yet, the Michelin's are generally the most expensive tire around.

Put it this way, Those falkens are better than 90% of the tires out there, at half the price. They are far superior in traction, Temp: and Speed rating. The sidewalls also give you really good towing compatibility for the tire.

SO the ruling is: If you only go down a gravel road to a camp every-once in a while: You don't need some huge, Wolly All-Terrain tire. I'm surprised at the turn-out of people who like Cooper tires. General consensus as owning them, and knowing many people who have had them.. They SUCK. Driving On highway, Not hauling much. You have to go with the falken. Better traction, And little better MPG if you had say a 265-60

Ya the Coopers are definitely too aggressive for me and they don't make a 275/65/18 like I want. I would go with the 265-60 but I like the wider tire...maybe thats weird of me since there isn't a huge difference in width...What would you think; would a 265-60 give me a better quarter mile time than a 275-65?? If so how much??
