ARE cap pricing

Shop around !!!!!!!! I got my ARE MX series for about $1400. I got it through my Dealer. They get a hefty discount on ARE, Rhino Liner, etc. The girl I bought my truck from, gave them a call and set the whole thing up. I ran over and had them install it once it got here. She didn't charge me anything for the phone call and I reaped the rewards of the dealership's discount.

I have the same cap as Benny and it was about the same price, $1500 as I recall.
Check a few other dealers in your area.

dariusld has a good point there. Caps are fairly expensive to ship because the are big and easily damaged.
The ARE plant is in Ohio so the farther away you are, the more expensive they get.

Well, il isn't that far from Ohio. How do you get a bedrug for 285 shipped? Been thinking maybe I'll just go with the cx series. It's about 1300 with carpet and tax. Quite a bit less than the z.

I got it awhile ago. I bought mine from autoanything, but than the prices jumped up everywhere. So giving you my price was kind of pointless:td: But one thing I do is scour the internet, to make sure I'm getting a low price on everything I buy. I love when I see those threads that ask "where do I get the lowest price on....".

I have a Z-Series on my truck and I really like it. Keep in mind, if you are going to put anything of value in the back, you want to make sure the top has a good locking mechanism. I had the cheaper ARE on my last truck and it only took a good yank on the handle and two fly rods and reels were gone. Not gonna happen with the Z-Series, I've got the screwdriver marks to prove it.

I would never buy a new topper for my truck. I've never had trouble finding a good topper for my previous trucks and they were all in great condition. There's no need to pay full price cause there's always people out there that buy them and decide they don't like them anymore. Search Craigslist and see what you come up with. Just my $.02

Whats the difference? They looked the same to me, or at least the CX and V.

The locks on the Z-Series are completely different, more like what you have on the doors of your truck.

The first couple of dudes responding were talking about MX series which are cheaper than the Z series -

When I priced 'em about 6 months ago in San Diego area I was finding them to be about 2400 out the door with the 350 roof rack, I think - so 2Gs sounds slightly better than what I was finding...

I have a snugtop rebel. not the most expensive but not the cheapest either. Got it installed for $1450

I checked out leer the other day. They didn't have any rebates like are has now so price wasn't that much cheaper... Maybe 100 bucks for their top of the line vs the v. Gonna try to check out one more place over the weekend.

I'd call the dealers all within the distance I was willing to drive and get their rock bottom price. Where are you located? There are several "local" brands you might not of heard of that are good. I have a Jeraco out of Pa.
Caps are pricey but it has been the best mod I've done to mine.

I live in chicago. I found a dealer on line not too far that shows a price of a Z @ 1569 and up. Not including their current 75 dollar rebate. Thats at least 150 cheaper than the place down the street. I like frameless rear windows on the leer, but don't like the exterior hinges they use on the XR and XL

I called the other are dealer. Apparently that price doesn't include install! Price was about 1900 with tax and no options.

Went to another leer dealer. Xl model was $1440 + 275 for roof rack +100 carpet and 100. Window fold down and it came out to roughly 2k with tax. Same cap from are would cost me 400 more and I like the xl over the z. Although I thought he said 1930 with tax for the leer. I'll have to check to see if he included carpet at 1440.

Oh yea. No one in the Midwest apparently carries snugtop anymore.
