I might be able to sometime this week, wish I would have known, I was looking at the tundra's two days ago and they had the overhead console one, no pics though.

I have it on mine but unless someone else gets to it first, I'll snap some shots of it for you tomorrow and post em.

Here is a link to a message I posted in a similar thread with a photo:

so do you lose the sunglass holder? or does it go in the blank slot inbetween the sunglasses and the storage pockets...

I have seen that pic, I more wanted real world.. from the drivers seat shot.. not a close up so to speak.
Is that a real image in the backup screen? It kinda looks like a photoshop job. Any pictures showing the quality of the actual image being displayed?
:D
does anyone know where you can buy the back up camera, because you have to get the NAV here in canada if yu want the camera?
Toyota Tundra Parts and Accessories Store : Toyota Tundra Accessories and Toyota Tundra Parts<BR>TOLL FREE 800.920.8606

The camera/tailgate handle is PT233-34070 for $270.00 USD and the monitor will use a part number like PT923-35070-XX where XX will be a dash number indicating your interior color. The monitor is $301.50 USD.

Other suppliers may have better prices.
We still want to see those real world views from a camera already installed, and not the simulated pics. Anybody got time to take a shot of it in action??

Sure would like to see it. Thanks in advance..

In Canada, there is a dealer installed option for the overhead monitor and back up camera. It is not showing on the accesories page for Toyota.ca build and price, but it is available.

The NAV option uses the monitor in the dash for backup display.
Costco had aftermarket wireless back up cameras last week for CDN$139...

Sorry I took so long to get to this, but here ya go. I tried to take one with the truck in reverse so you could see what the image looks like, but the flash ruined it, and with no flash it blacked it out.

The quality of the screen isnt as good as if you had the camera with a nav. system, but it works great and to me it was worth every penny. I've been hooking up my trailer with it everyday and it really saves me from having to get out every six inches to see where I'm at. If you tow you'll love it.

Hope that helps,

Mark

Ok, I am going to go ahead and ask. Has anyone thought about somehow jumping the wires so that you can turn the camera on while your driving forward to see everyone behind you when you leave them in the dust? Just a thought, because I know some of the higher end cameras in nav units can be disabled to do this.
Any thoughts anyone?
Has anyone installed the camera and monitor themselves? Is it all prewired?
I'm 6'4" and thought the rear camera only was the way to go but when you sit in the seat and try to look at the camera you have to bend down to see it. the mounting angle on it is not the best...spend the money and get the in dash nav
Are those of you with the backup camera using it for "regular" backing up or just for connecting to a trailer? Is that small screen adequate to see whats behind you in a parking lot situation?

yes and yes. I'm using it for hooking up the trailer daily (worth every penny for that), and also backing into the garage or a parking space . The camera has a fisheye lens so even though it appears to pointing straight down you can still get a fairly good view of whats behind you.
On another trend on here people are saying that your out of luck, if you dont get this installed form the factory. Is that true? You would think the harnes would be there no matter what. I do want to add this in the future.

Thanks for the info Jumbo. Aprroximately how far behind and how wide is the field of view. Also, did you install yourself? I hear it is VERY easy since all trucks are prewired. Are the connectors going into the monitor proprietery or standard RCA type? I really like the tailgate mount camera but would prefer a better aftermarket monitor.

Thanks man!
