Guys,
I could use a little input here. I have an '06 Sequoia 4x4 with 151K on it. I want to do the timing belt and water pump as I plan on keeping her for awhile yet. Local dealer (where I bought the thing brand new in 2006) wants over $1,100 to do the job. Probably more after they sell me a serpentine and who knows what else. To me, that sounds high but I know it will take some time so maybe I'm off base.

Question - does that sound out of line ? Anyone have any suggestions on where to get the job done (and done right) ???

Many thanks all -

You won't save much, if any, taking it to a reputable local shop. Take it to the dealer unless you have a good friend you can trust that happens to be an experienced toyota mechanic... If the dealer screws it up you have a much better chance of getting it fixed...
