Body has differences between 05-06?

1184 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  bigbadktm
After talking to the techs today at ARB, they are saying the 2006 body is by itself. Minor differences per the years. The 05 bumper will fit the 06 and bolts up the same but it won't follow the same lines as the 05.
Hopefully they kept the parts the same so its not the odd duck out.
Any thoughts or ideas experiences with this?

So I suppose we need to line up a 05 & 06 side by side to compare them.
The parts guys could verify the parts are the same on the 2 years.
bad enough we can't get gears, now maybe they tweaked the body on the last year of production.

Its possible, but I dont see why they would change things for one year, other than cosmetic changes....Its bad enough that there isnt anything for the 05.
They are the same. They may change lights or grilles or whatever but the body is the same. Are you talking about a Double cab, AC or standard?
ARB just advised that there was differences between the 2 years.
The bumper would stll fit just would not follow the body line as close.
Maybe more of a gap than previous year. sounds like light and that kinda stuff remained the same
I had same thought why change in the last year just before total new revamping?

That is also why I suggested we need to put a 05-06 side by side to really c if there was differences.

Or if someones blowing smoke
I'll vote for smoke. A guy down the street has an 06 but I don't care to ask him about it.

Smoke for sure. Just to clarify what cab style are we speaking of here?
I can't imagine Toyota would spend all that money to change body panels when they planned on releasing a brand new Truck in 2007. Those guys are smoking crack IMO. I'm heading over to autotrader.com to compare now. It'll be a waste of time.
I am sure they were not specific on body style but they did know I had the DC.
Evidently it is up front under the headlights and around to the front of the tire.
just enough the bumper won't exactly follow the body line on the 06. I am thinkin Canyonair mentioned his 05 had a bigger gap. have to check that
possibly in the grille area. i was looking for a decent grille for the 06 DC and noticed that 04-05 but no 06. not sure whats up with the d-cab. then another gille co. says 04-06. go figure.
