Do the DVD monitors tilt? If not, are they viewable form say a 4 year old height?

Shouldn't a 4-year old be in a car seat?
Yes, and he is, but still sits pretty low. In the pics it seems that the screen tip upwards.

they tilt some....i dont know in that pic if they are tilted all the way or not....i cant recall. but they do have a little bit of tilt in them. but that said, my 20 month old can see them perfectly fine from his carseat....he is enjoying the heck out of them.

its the headrests that tilt a little. not the screens like tigerking's. if you hoopty do the seat back like some people on here then you can get the screens to tilt down more but if u drive upright and properly they are pretty much straight up and down.

New Pair Tan Headrest 2x 7" Car DVD Player Complete Set - eBay (item 260551121894 end time Feb-12-10 00:37:30 PST)

zoaxis is the seller

theres several vendors on there selling the same thing, onfair is one but i think that one has warranty issues saying u have to ship back to china....the 9 inch screens would be great too but in my DC the 7s are just fine..maybe the CM or Seq could do well with the 9s but i didnt want to go too big for the little guys. but anyway, they dont have to tilt down to face them, your home tv doesnt tilt down does it? :) my kid looks up to ours hahaha.

Question? Which one might think I would know the answer to with all my mods. LOL I have a pair of wireless headphones from mine that I do not use..Would any wireless headphones work with any monitors that have the IR function? I am thinking so, as he sells them without the headphones for $195 for a pair. What a deal if I can use my Directed wireless headphones that I already have with these!

**Edit** Looks like they will as I just got ahold of my stereo expert and he said should not be a problem.

Chinese is prolly the ONLY kind of IR signal there is!! All them dooda's seem to be made there now.

BTW, ordered a backup camera set yesterday. Tried 75 bucks, 80 bucks. Both declined. Then got bored of it and just put in $100. That did the job.

i wonder if i can use the rear view camera thing on my 2010 model
the prewire wont be the same plug but its got its own plug for hardwiring power and reverse signal anyway so as long as the console hasnt been changed it should...but i dont have anyway of knowing for sure.

fragman, just ignore most of the wires that come with it if yours is prewired...just plug it in, and run teh video cable to the console through the headliner and plug it in. then run the video to the rear and mount your cam where u want and wire in positve to reverse lights and negative to ground of course...and thats it. half a box of left over wire and taps and stuff for another project. :)

oh and PS i googled NTB alignment coupon before i left the house and found one for 20 bucks off an alignment policy or 10 bucks off a 1 time alignment. I got a one year policy for 89 bucks. they aligned it to Truxx lift specs found on the internet and all seems well.

Well, I finally put in that 100 buck monitor camera thing and it works a treat. Also, turns out that the other (red) plug coming out of the monitor supplies 12v. And as the video cable and this power lead are all integrated into one cable running down the truck, I was able to use the supplied adapter at the other end. So both the video and the power are able to be easily unplugged if need be.

Hardest part of the whole install was getting the damn video cable through the big grommet in the firewall. There is probably another (easier) route, but that seemed the most obvious.

Thanks again for the thread!!

Oh yeah! it came with a LOT of connectors and wires. I ended up mounting mine right where you mounted yours. Seemed like the best place. Any higher and the tailgate would hit it when it opened.

I did contemplate seeing if I could open the camera case and integrate it into one of those Tundra camera tailgate handles (a lot of them on sale without the actual camera) , but thought better of it in the end.

the only thing ive found now, is that its hard to judge distance with the hitch....which is why i wanted it...if its up in the stock location u get a birds eye type of view that shows distance better.....but i still like mine for now....if i come across one of the rostra ones that mounts in the handle cheap ill change but for now its fine. cant beat the price though.
