Hello, have a rattling sound hitting some rough road that completely goes away if I touch the brakes. Before I narrowed it downI had 2 mechanics look at the front end and tell me everything is tight. The second time I even mentioned caliper and slide pins (he came for a drive with me) I couldn't get it to do it on every single bump but it did rattle and admitted he heard something(told me to take off my rear hitch mounted shakel which I knew was not the sound)

My 1998 blazer had the exact same symptoms so I've been throughtthis before.

He said right out no way it's the brakes and didn't even bother to check them, and it turns out I'm probably right.

So for the slide pins, do they have rubber bushings that are wore out? Or is there just a seal and grease?

No rubber bushings .

The guide pins should fit fairly snugly through the brake pad holes. Check to see if loose. If the pins are loose, could be the pad holes are too large (entirely possible w/ aftermarket pads) or pins have been worn or machined down for some reason.

I had the same exact issue. One of the wire springs on the front left wheel was bent and caused a rattle. I upgraded my 2001 calipers with the larger 2004 Raybestos (& rotors) so your part number may be different.

Here is what I bought from RockAuto for $4.76.
