Anyone have any experience -- good or bad -- carrying a canoe or kayak on the FJ's roof rack. My wife wants to trade her Tacoma for an FJ. The canoe and kayak were an easy deal with the Tacoma. It the FJ's roof rack plenty sturdy?

i attached a Yakima Rack to the FJ rack and have carried a canoe, and up to 3 kayaks with it. The factory rack is plenty sturdy, but the crossbars aren't.

Time for a new company car. Most everyone has gotten the Toyota Sienna Van but hearing a different drummer I am putting in for the FJ Crusier. Don't ask me why other then I am tired of mini vans after 20 years and I have a personel car if I have to make a long trip.

If it has the air dam then I'd stick with kayak the canoe would be pushing the limits of the air dam plastic. Kayak would be no problem for the FJ rack it's very sturdy. I've stood on mine but treading lightly and it has no issues.
