I have an 07 4WD Tacoma Double Cab with an automatic transmission. I want to install a good CB radio in the truck for long drives. Has anyone else mounted a radio in their Tacoma? If so, how did you do it? Any suggestions?

I have a Cobra with all the controls on the Mic and the small box mounted under the cup holders in the console.
I would have to take a couple pics tomorrow.

Just finished doing this task today. I'l try to post some pics over this weekend, but basically I mounted my Uniden 520XL-PRO to the passenger's side of the center floor console in the vertical position. The unit is so small and light, I was able to mount it with, don't laugh, Velcro. Since getting my Taco a few weeks ago, I've been missing my CB, so I'm really glad to have gotten it installed. I have my antenna mounted on the bed vertical plate that's in front of the tailgate, using a vertical rounded mount. My SWR is not exactly to my liking yet (around 1.8:1 on Channel 19), but I think if I add more ground straps I can get that a bit lower.

I mounted the this Cobra unit and it works great. You can mount the plug to the dash for easy access in case you wanted to unplug it, or mount it so that it plugs in under the passenger or drivers seat. Here is the link:

I've been considering one as well. I replaced my stock stereo though with a single DIN unit and bought the faceplate with the pocket under the deck. Would be a perfect fit for a small unit that could be slid out for security. Might consider something like that as well. I do like the idea of putting the remote unit in the center console. How good are those units though with everything in the handset?
