I just bought a used 2007 Tundra 4x4, 4.7 liter with the 6.5 foot bed (15,500 miles).

I live in snow country and right now roads are mostly bare with occasional icy patches.

I noticed that when I hit an icy patch (in 2 wheel drive) and the wheel spins, I get a quick chattering sound, kind of like what happens if you shifted into 4 wheel drive while the tires were spinning, only faster-paced and not as pronounced. I can also feel a vibration in the gas pedal when this happens. It's real brief, but unnerving.

Has anyone experienced this? Any idea what causes it? Thanks for your help.

or the owners manual. either one tells you what it is. im really suprised the number of people who havent driven a car with some sort of traction control or ABS before. all of them make some sort of slight noise and feeling one way or the other....its not hard to put 2 and 2 together and figure out what it is.....oh well.
