Anyone else "Tundra" on the side of their doors have the chrome peeling?

Truck is a 2010 got in December and the chrome is peeling off the logo, doesn't look like got it or anything just looks cheap and the chrome is lifting off.

i think the only thing people have had issue with (as far as the plastic chrome) was the chrome grille. dont think anyone has had the emblems peel...alot of people took theirs off but tons of us have them still...with no issues....get the dealer to replace it WITHOUT scratching the paint.

My grille is peeling quite badly.

I won't worry about it...

You can get yours fixed under warranty (I'm long past).

Thats weird i've never heard of this happening before in either case. As far as the grille i had my chrome grille on the truck for 46K (put a color match on yesterday) and i never had a problem with it, in fact i was impressed with how well mine was holding up. I live in Norther IL so we get a s**t load of salt and crap on the roads here. My brothers SR5 2008 is fine too, i've never noticed anything wrong with his truck.

I had my emblems on my truck for 3 years with no problems either (de-badged 3 months ago). The dealer should replace them, and issue like that has to be covered under warranty. Id be shocked if it wasn't. Keep us posted on what your dealer does...but my vote is to just de-badge the "TUNDRA" and "SR5" and leave your 5.7L emblem on, looks cleaner. :becky:

Yeah, beats me as the grille is hidden behind the brush guard where hte chrome is peeling. It doesn't make any contact with the brush guard either.

Yeah i bet that brush guard prevents A LOT of stuff from impacting the grille. Have you ever taken it to your dealer? Im just wondering what they would say about it.

I need to actually. I am long out of warranty, but have some rust on the inside of my rear bumper that's getting worse. I will have it looked at come Monday or Tuesday.

As far as the brush guard is concerned, it's an awesome deal. I had something come off a truck in front of me a few days ago that bounced off the brush guard.. left some paint transfer on it and a TINY dent on my actual bumper. It saved my truck again.

I got the same bumper thing going on you do. If its not too much trouble would ya let me know what toyota says about it, grant it every dealers diff but just curious? I was gonna bring the bumper up at my last service interval but forgot, my dealers a little out of the way too.

Im thinking that brush guard on your truck has well paid itself off by now. haha

Yeah man, any time. They can be jerkoffs down there, but I'll do my best haha.

The brush guard has paid for itself every time lol, be it in parts replaced, hassle, or insurance deductibles lol.

Rock, man that brush guard really did save you there, what ever blew off sure would done some damage had it not been for that thing.

Thats what my back bumper looks like too on the inside, if the dealer says they're not gonna do anything then ill take the back bumper off sand the rust off and throw a coat of "off brand" truck bed liner on the inside of it. Wouldn't bother spending the money on name brand line-x or anything.

Well, new bumper is on the way. Very easily as a matter of fact.

Calling about the grille right now. Doubt it'll happen

So they gave you a new rear bumper a? Thats good to hear...hey if they refuse to replace the grille and the pealing starts to get bad you could always get a black color match one, i bet that would look good on your rig.

....or look for another chrome one on ebay???

Yup, new rear bumper. I believe a front rear bumper will be in my future as well since it's actually eating away at the lip just a tiny bit. Hey, rust is rust.

I'd love to find a 2010 grille for my truck. Hmm....

Yeah the 2010's look cool, you could always throw a wanted add in the classifieds and see if anyone responds.
