From what I have searched on the board, I have the symptoms (no horn, no cruse control, airbag light on) of a busted clocking spring, spiral cable, or whatever you would like to call it. I also hear a strange rubbing noise when I turn the wheel. I have not looked here in Houston yet, but found a 2008 thread where someone found the part (#84306-0C021) at Toyota of Dallas for $227.10. If I was able to find one in a bone yard do you all think that would be fine or should I bite the bullet and go new? If no on the bone yard, what is the reasoning....may bust again and have to tear into it again in a month, not safe, etc?

This kinda gripes me because I'm sure this happened when my son got the front end aligned but I can't prove it. Some guys on the forum have also suspected this has happened to them. I guess some shops will take something apart and turn the steering wheel too many times breaking the ribbon cable/spiral cable.

Chaps my ARSS!!
