C'mon, It's Just a Truck...

I hear this all the time: "C'mon, It's Just a Truck" and most recently from a buddy I was hauling in my 07 LTD who felt a need to mud up anything within a foot of the all weather floor mats including the doors, glove box, carpet and our friendship for that matter!

"It's just a $40K truck!" I said to a guy who paid $22K for a used Subaru Forester and wants to borrow my truck all the time for hauling. So I took a dump on his Subaru's hood saying; "hey, it's just a car"

ok, off topic, sue me...

I had to read that 2x. You said "take a dump." LOL, think about that for a second. You would be minus 1 friend if that literally happened ... while I clean the beer off my desk from spewing it on my desk. :ts: :tu:

Would you call someone who muddied up your 3 week old Tunny a friend? i think not
Hey, when I pay $30,000 PLUS for a new truck, it is an expensive truck and I'd like to keep it looking that way as best as I can.
If thats all there is to the story it wasn't much of a friendship for either of you in the first place.:)

I'm trying to get the mental picture of you taking a dump on the hood of that Subaru. How did you get into a good position to take a dump? I would guess a wide-stance squat...but did you use one hand to hang on to the antenna and the other hand stuck out into the air for balance? Did you wear sneakers for gripping that clearcoat so you wouldn't slide off? And once you had your business done, I imagine it was somewhat of a delicate matter to get yourself down without disturbing your signature. :D
[Beavis]Why do they call it taking a dump? I mean, you're not taking it anywhere. They should call it leaving a dump.[/Beavis] :D

It's funny but I know exactly what you mean. I never worked to keep my other new cars clean (Acura TL, S430) but I try to keep my Tundra clean. I really liked my cars, especially after I got rims for them, but the Tundra is something special. I don't know about anybody else but I think it's a beautiful machine. It looks so menacing and purposeful, yet sculpted at the same time.

We should come up with our own line for this forum like... "I'll reply to that post as soon as I am done backing the brown tundra out of the garage."
