Does anyone know if the Compass & Homelink Mirror can be installed easily after purchase? Where does it get the power from?

Yes. Just remove the original (one set screw) and then install the new autodimming mirror. The new mirror has a wire that plugs right in the overhead console with a trim strip that hides the wire for a neat, good as factory look. I paid $229 for mine locally but I see www.tundrapartstore.com has them for cheaper. This one is an easy do-it-yourselfer as are other options like rear-view camera because the new 2007 are completely prewired.

I have looked at my console and am curious where the plug in is.

If you have to remove the console does the mirror come with instructions on how to do that?

I have an sr5 doube cab, if that makes a difference.

Thanks
This is interesting info since most of us will be getting our trucks without the opportunity to order specific options. How about the factory DVD player? Is the ceiling pre-wired? How hard is it to get the ceiling down and put it back up again without it looking like total crap?
Hmmm...I wonder if you could do the sonar aftermarket as well. I have yet to see that being sold.

That's because sonar sensors are probably already in there built into every Tundra at the factory. All you have to do is to take a hammer and a screwdriver and carefully punch in those little circular holes in the bumpers. Then slowly back your truck up against something until you hear a beep. Then come back here to let us know if it worked. ;)

Just kidding...don't do that. You didn't pay for it so it would be dishonest.
